From classic kids TV shows like Sesame Street and the Muppets to major motion pictures like Star Wars, puppets have played an important part in culture-shaping media.
This spring break, Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center is hosting a 5-day puppet-making camp. Kids can learn about the history of puppets while experimenting with mask-making, basic puppet design, and papier-mâché. The children will get to keep all of their creations during the week-long camp, led by expert puppet creator, James Cooper of TLC Puppets.
There is a one-time registration fee of $85 for the week. It will be held Monday, April 1st through Friday, April 5th from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This program is for kindergartners and older.
