This soul-stirring original play, created by poet and playwright Terrance Afer-Anderson, returns to the MainStage. Director Michael LeMelle brings this emotional performance to life, in recognition of 400 years since African slaves first arrived to the United States through Jamestown in 1619. Due to certain scenes with intense imagery and historically accurate depictions of the atrocities of the past, parental discretion is advised.
