Ain't Misbehavin' evokes the delightful humor and infectious energy of this American original as a versatile cast struts, strums, and sings the songs that he made famous in a career that ranged from uptown clubs to downtown Tin Pan Alley to Hollywood and concert stages in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. 

Featuring five triple-threat actors and a unit set,  Ain't Misbehavin' provides the perfect opportunity to deliver a smash hit while minimizing resources. The intoxicating music of Fats Waller will delight and energize audiences while offering great insight into a vibrant time in American history and music. 

Audition Criteria for Ain’t Misbehavin’
Saturday, September 26, 2026 

12-1 PM Song Preparation — 16–32 bars in the style of the show (jazz, swing, blues). No a cappella. Must bring music.  

1:30- 2:30 PM Cold Read — Short script sides to assess comedic timing and ensemble chemistry.  

2:45-4 PM Movement Call — Simple jazz/swing combination. 

Vocal Range Fit — Casting aligns with traditional ranges: 

• André: G2–E6  

• Armelia: G3–C6  

• Charlaine: G3–G5  

• Ken: D3–C6  

• Nell: F3–F5    

This is an all-volunteer cast 

Performance Dates:
Fridays and Saturdays from February 5 to February 20, 2027. Friday performances are at 7pm. Saturday performances are at 1pm and 7pm.
