About the Artist
Barry Thomas Ferguson: My primary focus is impressionism. I use other styles and art concepts to highlight my theme such as abstraction and texturing.
My primary medium is mixed. I prefer acrylic, watercolor, pastels, dry media, pencil, vintage crayon and magic marker.
My main focus at college was human figure study. I have completed several commissions from photographs, and I can draw or paint still life, animals, landscapes, or a combination of subjects. I have been drawing since I was a child and I always had a gift for the arts. My main focus now is to expand my techniques and use my experience to create new methods and channels for my art.
Education: Old Dominion University, Major: Therapeutic Recreation - Minor: Studio Arts Sculpture; Thomas Nelson Community College Major: Fine Art and General Studies.
My most notable exhibition was at an exhibition for the Brush Strokes organization in Charlotte, North Carolina. Also, I had an exhibition at Thomas Nelson Community College in 1981. I was known for my sculpture work at college. Recently I signed up for an exhibition at Hampton Roads Academy in Newport News, Virginia.
