The Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center is a multi-purpose cultural space in the Southeast community of Newport News, Virginia. Originally built as the Walter Reed School, the historic building has been restored and open to the public since October 2008. The center is a facility of the City of Newport News department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism.
From children's musical theater programs, to adults-only spoken word poetry slams, there's an art for everybody. Check our our upcoming events, or contact 757-247-8950 to inquire about our workshops, camps, and other youth programs.
