“Between a Rock & Eternity” will be on display in our Newport News Community Gallery from September 18 – November 20, 2026 with an opening reception & artist talk on September 18, 2026 from 6-8pm. At the reception, the artist will discuss her journey, artistic process, equipment, and the locations featured in her photographs. The reception is free and open to the public. Light refreshments served. RSVP appreciated.

The images focus on contrast: rough ground against open air, weathered surfaces beside living forms, growth next to erosion. Bergenstock is drawn to moments where things feel both alive and fading, as if the land is holding its breath.

Using natural light and minimal intervention, Bergenstock works spontaneously, letting texture, shadow, and atmosphere guide the frame.

These photographs are not about spectacle, but presence—paying attention to what is often overlooked and finding meaning in the tension between what endures and what disappears.
