About the Artist
Abdul- Musawir was born in Newark, NJ and presently resides in Hampton, VA. He graduated from Newark Central High School and received a full scholarship to the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art with a degree in Fine Arts.
Since then, Abdul-Musawir has served on the exhibits design staff at the Newark Museum, and was an Artist-in-Residence at the Newark Board of Education. He also participated in the “Diversity Conference” at Heritage High School in Newport News, VA, and was a prize winner at the Hampton “Wine and Art Festival”.
