Chris Jeanguenat

Chris Jeanguenat is an award-winning Virginia-based artist known for her expressive, storytelling style, which she describes as “happy, Gothic, baroque illustration”.

Her honors include Best in Show at the Stockley Gardens Arts Festival (2021), Second Place (2024), and Virginia’s Finest Award at the MOCA Boardwalk Art Show (2025), excellence awards for painting at Seawall Arts Festival, and Bay School Community Arts Center. She serves as Exhibitions Chair for the Suffolk Art League and has been a judge for the Neptune Arts Festival student competition, d’Art Center, and a juror for the Chesapeake Bay Association Arts Festival.

Chris studied art at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Her work has been exhibited widely across Virginia, including solo shows at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens and exhibitions at the Rawls Museum Arts, the Bay School Community Arts Center, Virginia public libraries, and other regional venues. Her work has been published in magazines such as The Turquoise Iris Journal and will be an upcoming featured artist in in What Women Create Magazine in 2027.

She creates from her home studio in downtown Suffolk, producing vibrant, imaginative pieces that invite viewers into her narrative world.
