About the Artist
I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology, inspiring the Freudian and Jungian influences in my art. Each painting is “sculpted” using gesso and modeling paste, and “washed” with watered down acrylic paint. I then paint on my canvases to accent depth, color, motion, and balance. I also sculpt in soapstone and alabaster in a more representational style using strong astrological and archetypal themes.
My works possess Feng Shui and cosmic overtones, loaded with subliminal impressions and psychic energy. My style is eclectic and outside-the-box, representing impressions and images from other worlds, alternate realities, and visions experienced while astral travelling.
I have exhibited in numerous shows, colleges, and corporate settings. My work has been shown in galleries around the country, including Bergwell Gallery in CA, Art Showcase Gallery in Philly, along with local galleries Olde Towne Gallery, The Newsome House Museum, Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center, Wise Memorial Gallery, and the Singletary Gallery of African Art. I have received over a dozen awards in the past decade, including two “Best in Show” awards in 2013 and 2015. I also have one CD album cover and a book cover painting to my credit.
