About The Artist
Short Story is a highly skilled mixed media, sketch, collage, and screen print artist from Portsmouth, Virginia.
He is unique as an artist, incorporating dying elements of newspaper and pop art schemes to create. He calls it Glamour and Grit. A mix of fashion, illustration, graffiti, and fine art balanced into compositions on canvas and wood.
The main feature of most of Short Story’s work is his ability to incorporate newspaper comic strips, especially into negative space. This style he has coined is called the light-hearted style. Comic Strips represent short conversations of various natures.

This exhibit is a Visual Representation of Everyday Life Through The Use of Newsprint.

Today, he is known for incorporating comic strips into his artwork, often representing layers revolving around the social commentary of each piece. Short Story calls this the “light-hearted style.” He frames and stretches all of his own canvases and also produces art on framed wood panels. He is both an analog and digital artist and seldom uses graphic design within the composition of an art piece. Short Story is also well-versed in screen printing for use in artwork and on garments.
