Downing-Gross brings Rise of the Guardians to life with annual Holiday Frost
Bringing imagination from the film to the facility on December 8th, 2017.
Since receiving “Best New Event” by the Virginia Recreation and Park Society in 2009, Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center continues to serve over 500 youth and families of the Southeast Community with their yearly Holiday Frost celebration. Created with the goal of giving every child the opportunity to experience the excitement and imagination of the season, it has become a highly-anticipated cornerstone of the facility’s annual programming.
Every December, the building transforms into a winter wonderland, with this year's theme being DreamWorks Animation’s Rise of the Guardians. Children of all ages are invited to help the Guardians defeat Pitch Black. They can have an indoor snowball fight with Jack Frost, go on an egg hunt with E. Aster Bunnymund, create sand art with the Sandman, escape Pitch Black’s maze, and participate in many more games and imaginative holiday activities. There will be plenty of delicious treats and every child can receive a gift from Nicholas St. North.
As always, this event is free and open to the public. It will be held on Friday, December 8th, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Registration is available at www.downinggross.org.
